Everyone needs a change

After being discharged from the Army, I’ve decided to make a few changes in my life. Such as getting a new job, broadening my point of view, learning something new and (hopefully) finishing my kick-ass thesis. Of course there was a need for a start, after doing nothing for a couple of weeks I made it my duty to find a job, as money for some reason is an essential part of our lives... I’ve got to admit there were a lot of things for me to do, but those were things I wouldn’t want to do anymore.
In order to get a fresh breeze in my life, I signed up for Netron’s Developer Factory. The programme is based on Microsofts MCPD (Microsoft Certified Professional Developer) certification with an aim of training software development specialists. This might be a start for me, as the worst decision is always the best decision. I’ll be attending the programme for a 6 month period and will be receiving 600 hours of awesome developer wisdom :)

As soon as the programme starts I’ll keep you updated on this matter as it might give those who want to receive such training an idea. So wish me loads of luck that I’ll succeed in this project, as it’d be the first part of my “Total World Domination” tour...

The Day the Music Really Died

Today was probably one of the saddest day in Music History, the King of Pop passed away yesterday at the age of 51. The most important figure in Pop Music or let’s say the person who saved Pop Music in the 80’s U.S. and made history!

To put it in Ronald Reagan’s words “An American Dream Come True!”, he was a genius in his Job with all that he did, despite having some difficulties throughout his private life. He really worked hard to earn his nickname, to be “The King of Pop”...

Just as he was about to give it a new spark, he passed away. In my blog I’d like to express my deepest condolences, may he rest in peace...

Yesterdays Placebo

Yesterday evening, again a great band played at the "Kuruçeşme Arena" in Istanbul. Who they were? Mr. Brian Molko and his fellow musicians... Placebo! As most of you must've heard they've got a new album out, it's called "Battle for the Sun", the first video of the album "For What It's Worth" premiered on the 1st of June 2009 on TV, and yesterday they made it to Istanbul.

The reason why I say they made it to Istanbul was that a funny thing (probably quite the arbitrary for the crew & venue) happened on the way. All their equipment got stuck at the Turkish Customs... So on Tuesday the 22nd June 09 I was eating dinner at home with Homenjor when a suspicious call came in. The voice on the phone said that the concert was cancelled, first I couldn't understand what happened, why would the equipment not pass through customs? A feeling of anxiety came upon me... so I checked out the news on the Internet with Homenjor and what shall I see? It was NOT cancelled, rather being delayed to the next day which I have to thank for. (see cancelled Istanbul show of Depeche Mode)

Mr. Molko also told us that it wasn't their fault and that we should complain to Turkish Customs for what happened (and believe me we're going to :), the stage decor was brilliant, the music volume was a little bit down, Steve Forrest who replaced Steve Hewitt is an genius on the drums I have to add, weather was a bit hot, all in one it was a great show, thank you Placebo!

We all here in Turkey hope they'll be soon back with a new album, Placebo is always in my opinion a "must see live" band. Another thing is that this concert was also quite interesting to me because I had the chance to see a lovely friend of mine, which I hadn’t, have seen for about 3½ years.

The First Entry

Hello World,

Welcome to my first blog entry on blogger.com, actually I totally forgot that I had this account on blogger.com. It was actually aimed for my time being in France in 2005, where I was an Erasmus Exchange Student at IÉSEG. It seems like I had so much fun back then that I totally lost track of my accounts on the WWW :)

Anyway back in present time I'll try to update my blog as often as I can. Right now I've actually got NO idea what the topics are going to be... so check in as often as you can and see what will happen in the near future on this blog.

Tolga
